Has anybody seen this TV appearance? Lawman was an excellent western series...
Marty stars as the tormented Bob Ford. Really good performance here! Check it out when it comes around on the western channel again!!!

Photobucket] Bob Ford was part of James gang who gained the outlaw's confidence only to gun him down in his own home. Jesse wasn't lookin' , straightening a picture on the wall and Bob Ford shot him in the back of the head. He was branded a coward because of the lowly way the deed was done; not a fair fight as Jesse would have wanted or deserved as a legend. It was later exposed Ford was paid by the Governor of Mo. to kill Jesse. Ford thought he would became a bigger legend by performing this deed as a stage act. His brother eventually commited suicide because he couldn't live with the fact he participated in the conspiracy and the label that went with it. This episode nicely ties into the historical record here. Bob played by Marty is a guilt ridden man tortured by the deed he has done, knowing he can not change the past. Bob Ford knew his days were numbered it was just a matter of time before a two-bit gunman would take him out. It's kinda like living on death row, but not knowing when the sentence will be passed. This desperation is conveyed very well as he has no more fight left in him to fire on the marshal or his challengers.

What's really cool for me is that I've toured the James Farm in Mo. and other Jesse James sites last year!
Cool
